On My Knitting Needles; A Scarf in Rowan Tobacco Tweed

See the flecks of different colors in the yarn?

I just love tweed yarns.  This Rowan Tobacco Tweed has flecks of purple and hot pink in it.  Not a traditional monochromatic tweed.

I’ve had this yarn for quite some time and knit several scarves with it.  And I’ve ripped all of them out.  Who is this hard to please customer that doesn’t like anything I knit with this lovely yarn? Me of course. 🙂

So I took a look at the scarves I’ve knit for my shop All Unwound, and picked out a scarf pattern I really like.  It’s a new pattern that will be available soon.  It looks quite stunning in several different types of yarn.

Although I’m only a few inches into this scarf I do really like this tweed in this pattern.  Rowan Tweed yarn is a thick and thin yarn so the texture of the yarn can and will change

from stitch to stitch.  That’s why it doesn’t look good, to me,  in every pattern style.  The texture variations and the slubs of different colors make the yarn interesting and will allow it to coordinate with many of my winter outfits.  I can’t wait for the weather to get cooler so I can wear this!  Of course I’ll have to finish it first.  As those of you that have read All Unwound’s About Page know, I’ve been spending my time creating some new hat and scarf patterns for my shop.  This scarf for myself is my break before finishing up those new items for my shop, and beginning knitting for the holidays.

If you’re looking for a scarf, perhaps a cowl or frilly scarf, check out All Unwound’s Scarves Hand Knit.  You’ll see that I knit many different styles of scarves!
